When you visit or use our website, we automatically collect the following information:

We use a free, privacy-respecting geolocation service (ip-api.com) to look up the approximate country and city from your IP address. This lookup is cached — your IP is not repeatedly sent to any third party.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not use cookies for tracking or profiling
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any identity information (unless you contact us directly)
- We do not track you across other websites
- We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking scripts
- We do not build advertising profiles
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for commercial purposes
4. Advertising
This website may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and your browsing data to show relevant ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
We do not receive any personal data from Google as part of the advertising relationship — we only receive anonymised revenue reports.
5. YouTube Content
Search results may include videos from YouTube. These are fetched using the official YouTube Data API v3 and displayed as links — YouTube videos are not embedded directly on our pages. Clicking a YouTube link takes you to YouTube, which has its own privacy policy.
6. Legal Basis for Processing (DPDPA 2023)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, we process your data on the basis of:
- Legitimate interest — operating and improving a public search service, preventing abuse, and understanding our audience
- Consent — by continuing to use this website, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy
We process only the minimum data necessary for these purposes and do not use it for any other reason.
7. Data Security
All data is stored on servers located in India (Microsoft Azure, Central India region). We implement the following security measures:
- All traffic encrypted via HTTPS (TLS 1.2/1.3)
- Server access restricted by SSH key authentication only
- Firewall allowing only ports 80, 443, and 22
- Automatic security updates enabled on the server
- IP addresses automatically anonymised after 30 days
- Admin access protected by secure token authentication
- No data is transferred outside India
8. Your Rights
Under the DPDPA 2023 and general privacy principles, you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Erase your data (right to be forgotten)
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf
To exercise any of these rights, email us at kaushickgbose@gmail.com with your IP address (available from whatismyip.com) and your request. We will respond within 30 days.
Note: since we anonymise IPs after 30 days, we may not be able to identify your specific records if more than 30 days have passed.

- Anonymised subnet (e.g. 103.21.xx.xx): 90 days
- Search queries (no IP attached after 30 days): 90 days
- Geolocation cache (country/city): 7 days
- All analytics data: deleted after 90 days
10. Cookies
Jyotish Visheshagya itself does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. The only cookies that may be set are by Google AdSense (if ads are displayed) and by your browser's own preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting the core search functionality of this site.
11. Children's Privacy
This website is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at kaushickgbose@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
